Home clash on 23 February the ‘Charity Partners’ game
Huddersfield Town will celebrate and promote its three official charity partners for the 2012/13 season when the team host Ipswich in the npower Championship game on Saturday 23 February.
Yorkshire Cancer Research, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Hollybank Trust are the Club’s selected charities for its first season back in the second tier of English football for over a decade and the next League home game.
The charities will get the chance to sell tickets for the game in advance of match day and will be pivotal to the match day activities, performing the guard of honour for the players as they enter the field of play ahead of kick-off.
There will also be information available on the day showcasing the vital work all three charities carry out across our region.
The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life limiting conditions and their families. They are currently caring for over 50 families through their ‘hospice at home’ service and the charity has just completed the construction of a brand new purpose-built children’s hospice in Huddersfield, which will provide a respite care in a stimulating environment for children along with their siblings and families.
Harrogate-based Yorkshire Cancer Research is the UK’s largest regional medical research charity, funding cancer research that is carried out by world-class scientists and clinicians across Yorkshire and providing information to help local people beat cancer.
Hollybank Trust is a long standing friend of the Club which we have supported throughout the ‘New Era’. Based in Mirfield, Hollybank provides children and young people with complex disabilities with quality of life, for life. Their aim is to reach beyond meeting purely physical needs to nurture, develop and enrich the lives of those who spend time in their school and accommodation.

“The upcoming Ipswich game will be used as a platform to raise awareness of the fantastic work our three charity partners carry out throughout the region.
“As a community club, it is only right that we play our part in lifting the profile of the three organisations. Our fan-base has shown on many occasions that it is incredibly dedicated to local charities and I hope everyone takes something away from the afternoon, even if it is simply a better knowledge of the work that all three charity partners do.”
