Young Terriers maintain unbeaten start

Town’s under-18 side maintained their unbeaten start to the new FA Premier Academy League season with a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United this morning.

Town took the lead in the first-half, with winger Jake Charles cutting in from the right flank and firing the ball underneath the Blades goalkeeper for his second goal of the season.

Sheffield United hit two goals to take the lead for the first time in the game, but the young Terriers showed tremendous character and a desire to maintain their unbeaten start to the FA Premier Academy League season.

Midfielder Duane Holmes was the man to get the equaliser, maintaining his record of scoring in every competitive fixture this season in the process. A Town long was flicked on at the near post and Holmes made no mistake in chesting the ball down before finishing in accomplished style.

Town's team:
Ed Wilczynski; Mikey Starkey, Joe Wright (c), William Boyle, Thomas Briggs; Ben Holmes, Kedesh Goddard, Duane Holmes; George Conway, Paul Mullin, Jake Charles

Unused subs: Jordan Porter, Joe Wilkinson, Danny Morton, Sean Collins, Ryan Cox
