Fifth straight pre-season win for youngsters

Town’s Under-18 side won its fifth successive pre-season friendly today, beating their equivalents from Port Vale 2-1.

Tony Carss’ Under-18 squad is currently in the middle of a five day stay at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre, where the game was played.

The young Terriers will also play a side from the Strachan Football Foundation, which is run by Scotland Manager Gordon Strachan, at the facility on Thursday before returning to West Yorkshire.

Town took a 2-0 lead in today’s friendly, with Irish striker Ronan Coughlan netting his seventh goal in just five pre-season games, having joined the Club from Limerick in the summer (click HERE for full info). Ronan also had another goal disallowed during the game.

Town’s second goal came courtesy of a trialist, with the Port Vale consolation following.
