Young Terriers win West Yorkshire derby
Midfielder Regan Booty had a hand in all three goals as Town’s Under-18 side came out on top in its Professional Development League 2 North Yorkshire derby at PPG Canalside on Saturday morning.
The first year scholar’s set pieces caused issues for the visitors all afternoon and were largely responsible as Tony Carss’ side took a two goal lead into the interval. Town took the lead just after the 20 minute mark, with Fraser Horsfall converting after Booty hit the bar with a free-kick. Shortly afterwards Regan did even better, converting a free-kick for his first goal of the season.
United hit back just after the restart with a goal, but Booty (pictured above) caused havoc again after the hour mark – forcing a defender to turn his cross past his own goalkeeper.
