Under-18s defeated in final pre-season friendly
Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Mark Lillis heralded the under-18s 4-1 pre-season defeat at Leeds United as a ‘wake-up call’ for his side ahead of the competitive season.
The under-18 side had won all three of their previous pre-season friendlies, but Saturday morning’s pre-season friendly at Town’s West Yorkshire neighbours didn’t go to plan – with the under-18s 3-0 down after a poor first half.
The young Terriers showed good resolve to draw the second half after initially going 4-0 down, with first year winger Jake Charles scoring his second goal of pre-season.
Town’s under-18s begin their FA Premier Academy League season at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday 18 August.
