YOUTH CUP DATE WITH PALACE CONFIRMED

19 November 2014

Town host Londoners at John Smith’s Stadium on 10 December

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side will play at home to fellow Professional Development League 2 team Crystal Palace in the Third Round of this season’s FA Youth Cup on Wednesday 10 December; 7pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The north end of the Revell Ward Stand Lower Tier will be open for this fixture, with admission priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

It will be the first time the two clubs have ever met in the FA Youth Cup, although the pair shared a 4-4 draw on the opening day of the current Professional Development League 2 season in the capital.

Town’s youngsters will be hoping to build upon last season’s performance in the competition, when they bettered the Club’s previous performances in the FA Youth Cup over the last 40 years by reaching the Sixth Round – losing to eventual finalists Fulham.

This season, Tony Carss’ side sits third in the PDL2 North table with 21 points from the opening 11 games – just three points behind leaders Coventry City with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Under-18 side is managed by former Northampton Town player Ken Gillard. The Eagles sit 9th in the PDL2 South table with 11 points from as many games.

Town’s Under-18 side is back in League action at Sheffield United on Saturday (22 November) in an 11am kick-off at the Blades’ training ground on Shirecliffe Road.
