Young Terriers record fantastic win

A young Huddersfield Town under-18 side recorded a fantastic 3-1 FA Premier Academy League win over visitors Coventry City at Canalside Sports Complex this morning.

The Sky Blues took an early lead inside eight minutes, but the Terriers fought back and equalised just after the half hour when striker Paul Mullin headed home an excellent cross from the right from full back Tom Briggs.

Town had to be patient before taking the lead with just 15 minutes remaining, with under-16 player Fraser Horsfall – making his under-18 debut – showing fantastic composure belying his tender years inside the area to fire home from inside the penalty area.

In-form midfielder Duane Holmes extended his impressive run of scoring with a sixth goal in as many games five minutes later, seizing on a loose ball before accurately sending the ball in off the post.

The under-18s were missing several players through injury and suspension on the afternoon and finished the game with 15 year-old Regan Booty on the pitch making his debut.

Town's team:
Jordan Porter; Mikey Starkey, Joe Wilkinson, Fraser Horsfall, Thomas Briggs; Kedesh Goddard (c), Duane Holmes, Ben Holmes; George Conway (Regan Booty 85), Paul Mullin (Danny Morton 77), Jake Charles

Unused subs: Ed Wilczynski, Ben Atkinson
