Home defeat for the Development Squad
- Under-23s defeated by Crewe Alexandra- HTAFC took lead through an own goal
- Highlights on HTTV this week
Huddersfield Town’s table-topping Under-23 side was defeated by visitors Crewe Alexandra at PPG Canalside on Sunday afternoon.
Frankie Bunn named a young side, with goalkeeper Joe Murphy the only overage player, and the Terriers soon took the lead when an errant back-pass from a Crewe player beat the goalkeeper in the seventh minute.
However, the Railwaymen restored parity before the interval when Callum Saunders finished off a quick counter-attack at the back post.
Crewe took the lead for the first time in the 66th minute with a neat curling effort that nestled inside Murphy’s far post before a defensive lapse made it 3-1 barely a minute later.
Highlights of the game will appear on HTTV during the week.
