PREVIEW: U18s AT SHEFF WED ON SATURDAY

Young Terriers back in action this weekend

- Town Under-18s in action on Saturday
- Leigh Bromby's side plays at Sheffield Wednesday
- 11am kick-off in South Yorkshire

Leigh Bromby’s Town Under-18s side makes the short trip to South Yorkshire this weekend to face Sheffield Wednesday in the latest Professional Development League fixture of the season.

The game kicks off at 11am at the Owls’ Middlewood Road training ground (S6 1TF), where fans are usually permitted to watch the game free of charge.

If you can’t get to the game, you can get all the latest team news and match updates via the Club’s dedicated Huddersfield Town Academy Twitter account, @htafcacademy.

The Young Terriers will be looking to bounce back after their 3-1 away defeat to Professional Development League South side Coventry City last time out, when Cedwyn Scott scored what would prove to be a consolation goal at the Alan Higgs Centre.

Town’s Under-18 side currently sits in sixth place in the PDL North table, but has a game in hand on four of the five teams higher in the division. The Young Terriers are five points behind this weekend’s opponent and could climb to third with a win.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-18s side – led by one-time Town trialist Steve Haslam – is currently in second place in the PDL North, thirteen points behind league leaders and rival Sheffield United. Last time out, the Owls’ Under-18s drew 1-1 draw against PDL South side Watford.

In the previous meeting between the two sides in October, it was Sheffield Wednesday who emerged victorious. Cedwyn Scott was on the scoresheet for the Young Terriers again but could do nothing to stop his side succumbing to a 4-1 defeat.

The Professional Development League is split into two regional divisions, North and South. Teams play opponents in their own division twice and the other division once, before the top two teams from each league meet in the Play-Offs to determine the overall Champions.
