8 April 2017

Highlights available on HTTV next week

-    Huddersfield Town beat QPR 2-1 away from home
-    Goals from Cedwyn Scott and George Danaher
-    Win draws a close to the end of the 2016/17 PDL season

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18s side ended the 2016/17 season on a high beating QPR 2-1 in the Professional Development League.

A late comeback from Leigh Bromby’s side gave the youngsters their first win since the 3-2 away win against Leeds United on 11 March.

As the season draws to a close, the Professional Development Coach selected two trialists in his starting line-up. Luke Mewitt replaced Ryan Schofield, who joined FC United of Manchester on an emergency loan, whilst winger Alie Bangura, from Broxbourne Borough, also started.

In an intense match at Harlington, Queens Park Rangers took the lead in the 27th minute.

However, a late and inspired comeback from Leigh Bromby’s side earned the young Terriers all three points.

In the 85th minute George Danaher continued his fine run of goalscoring form heading in a great cross from Dominic Tear at the back post.

Just three minutes later in the 88th minute, Cedwyn Scott gave Town’s Under-18s side the win with a superb finish from a narrow angle.

Highlights will be available on HTTV next week.
