REPORT: FOREST 3-2 TOWN U18s

26 November 2016

Narrow defeat in a high-scoring game

- Town Under-18s lose at Nottingham Forest
- Cedwyn Scott & Olly Dyson score for the Terriers
- Highlights on HTTV this coming week

Town’s Under-18 side came out on the wrong side of a hotly contested five goal thriller at Nottingham Forest in the Professional Development League on Saturday morning.

The game featured the two top scorers in the PDL so far this season; Forest’s Virgil Gomis and Town’s Cedwyn Scott both had 14 goals coming into the fixture.

It was the Forest man who struck first blood, scoring two goals in as many minutes just before the half hour mark to give his side a 2-0 lead.

However, Scott (pictured above) made it 15 goals in as many appearances for Town’s Under-18 side just before the interval to reduce the arrears to 2-1.

Town fought hard to find an equaliser in the second half, only for the home side to net a third against the run of play in the 76th minute.

Midfielder Olly Dyson scored three minutes later to make it an interesting final 10 minutes, but the Tricky Trees held on for the win.

Highlights of the game will appear on HTTV during the week.

Town’s team (4-2-3-1):
Owen Brooke; Harry Clibbens, Rarmani Edmonds-Green (c), Callum Elliott, Sam Gibson; Isaac Marriott, Alfie Raw (Scott High, 81’); George Danaher (Matty Daly, 46’), Denilson Carvalho, Olly Dyson; Cedwyn Scott

Unused subs:
Luke Jackson, Oran Thompson, Ben Jackson
