Cedwyn Scott scores a hat-trick for Tony Carss' side

An excellent second half performance and a flurry of late goals earned Tony Carss’ side their first win of the 2016/17 Under-18 Professional Development League 2 season.

Town’s Professional Development Coach, Tony Carss named an unchanged side for his Under-18s match against Colchester United, from the team that drew 2-2 with Bristol City on the opening day of the season last weekend.

The young Terriers took the lead on the 29th minute after a very positive opening half an hour. Cedwyn Scott put the youngsters in front after heading past the Colchester United ‘keeper.

In the 61st minutes Cedwyn Scott doubled Town’s lead but the two goal advantage didn’t last long. Just two minutes after Scott’s goal Colchester United pulled one back and brought themselves back into the match.

However, the visitor’s goal didn’t deter Carss’ side who responded excellently. Ten minutes after the goal Dominic Tear scored Town’s third. He arrived at the back post and finished coolly.

In the 76th minute the young Terriers bagged their fourth of the afternoon. First year scholar Olly Dyson received the ball on the edge of the area after Town played a second phase corner and hit a lovely finish into the back of the net.

Just two minutes later Town had five and Cedwyn Scott earned his first hat-trick of the season. An excellent ball from Olly Dyson found Scott who finished well.

A flurry of second half goals ended eight minutes from time. Colchester United’s youngsters hit Town on the counter to score a consolation goal.
