Custodian pens new contract until summer of 2019

- Ryan Schofield signs extended HTAFC contract
- Academy goalkeeper commits future until 2019
- Breakthrough year for England U18 international

Huddersfield Town Academy goalkeeper Ryan Schofield has signed a new professional contract at the Club that runs until the summer of 2019.

Ryan, who is still in the first year of his two season scholarship, signed his first professional deal upon turning 17 in December 2016, but has now extended his commitment to Town following an impressive campaign for Club and country.

Schofield made his England Under-18 debut last month, keeping a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Qatar at the conclusion of a week-long camp in the Middle East.

He subsequently joined Vanarama National League North side FC United of Manchester on Emergency Loan ahead of last weekend and kept a clean sheet on his senior debut in a goalless draw at Bradford Park Avenue.

The former Lepton Highlanders stopper featured in last season's Under-21 Professional Development League 2 Play-Off Final where he impressed with some brilliant saves as the Terriers defeated Sheffield United to win the national title.

He’s gone on to make two starts for Town’s Under-23s this season, as well as 25 for the Under-18 side.
