- Irish beat Kosovo 1-0 in UEFA qualifier
Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad defender Danny Kane earned a second Under-21 cap for the Republic of Ireland on Saturday afternoon.
The 19 year-old played the full 90 minutes in the unfamiliar position of left back as the Irish beat Kosovo 1-0 at Shamrock Rovers’ Tallaght Stadium in South Dublin, with the only goal coming from QPR’s Olamide Shodipo early in the second-half.
This was only Danny’s second cap at this level, having played for every age group from Under-16s upwards previously.
The game was the first in the group stage as Noel King’s side begins its qualifying campaign for the 2019 UEFA Under-21 Championship.
Danny will now return to PPG Canalside, where he works under Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn alongside his Under-23 teammates.
