Wagner makes two changes to his starting XI

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made two changes to the starting XI for tonight’s Sky Bet Championship game against Preston North End; 7.45pm kick-off at Deepdale.

Both changes come in the attacking midfield areas, with Wagner handing starts to Jack Payne (pictured above) and Sean Scannell.

21 year-old Payne makes his first start in seven games – and the 50th of his fledgling league career – this evening, playing just behind the striker. Kasey Palmer makes way; he’s a substitute tonight.

The second change comes on the right wing, where Scannell has recovered from the hip injury that ruled him out against Sheffield Wednesday to start against the Lilywhites. He takes the place of Nahki Wells, so Elias Kachunga is likely to move into a central striking role tonight.

With Scannell back in the match day 18, young defender Tareiq Holmes-Dennis has not travelled and makes way.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward is making the 50th start of his domestic career tonight.
