LOAN: HORSFALL EXTENDS STALYBRIDGE STAY

8 February 2017

Development Squad centre back to gain more experience

- Fraser Horsfall extends loan at Stalybridge Celtic
- Development Squad centre back has made three apps
- Extension runs until 12 March 2017

Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad defender Fraser Horsfall has extended his Youth Loan at Stalybridge Celtic until 12 March 2017.

The 20 year-old has enjoyed a successful first month at the Vanarama National League North club, making three appearances at centre back.

Managed by Paul Phillips and Steve Halford, Stalybridge sits 21st in the 22-team Vanarama North table but have been unbeaten when Fraser has played, keeping two clean sheets in the process.

He will now gain further senior experience at the Club, adding to a two-month loan spell at Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division North side Trafford FC earlier this season, where he made 11 starts.

Fraser’s first start came in a 1-0 home victory over FC Halifax Town in early January, where he made ‘an impressive debut’ per the official Stalybridge website.

He scored in his next appearance; a 74th minute back post header from a corner in an eventual 202 draw at Gainsborough Trinity.

Horsfall got another 90 minutes under his belt in a goalless draw at Curzon Ashton, but unfortunately missed last weekend’s game at Stockport County due to an ankle injury.

Although the transfer window has closed, loan moves to non-league clubs are still permitted.
