LOANS: YOUNG TOWN TRIO JOIN NON-LEAGUE CLUBS

7 January 2017

Young GK Tadhg Ryan returns to HTAFC

- Fraser Horsfall joins Stalybridge Celtic on loan
- George Dorrington moves on loan to Ashton United
- Owen Brooke goes to Radcliffe Borough as Tadhg Ryan returns

Three Huddersfield Town youngsters have today departed to gain First Team experience through loan spells at non-league clubs, with goalkeeper Tadhg Ryan returning from his recent loan.

Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad defender Fraser Horsfall (pictured) has joined Vanarama National League North side Stalybridge Celtic on a Youth Loan until 7 February 2017.

The 20 year-old centre back joins Stalybridge upon the conclusion of a previous two month loan spell at Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division North side Trafford FC, moving up two divisions in the process.

Fraser made 11 starts for Trafford FC, during which time the team kept six clean sheets and rose from 12th to third in the division.

He now joins Stalybridge Celtic, managed by Paul Phillips and Steve Halford, with the Club sitting 21st in the 22-team Vanarama North table with 10 points from 23 games; 11 points from safety.

The Celtic squad includes two former Town players; winger Aidan Chippendale and former loanee striker Liam Dickinson.

Fraser is in line to make his debut for the Club during Saturday’s game against FC Halifax Town at Stalybridge’s Bower Fold.

Goalkeeper George Dorrington has joined Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division side Ashton United on a Youth Loan until 6 February 2017 inclusive.

This is a first loan for the 19 year-old custodian, who joined the Terriers as a free agent following his departure from Manchester United on 1 July 2016.

Ashton, managed by players Will Haining and Jody Banim, sits 15th in the 24-team table with 35 points from 26 games.

George is expected to go straight into the squad for Ashton’s game at home to Whitby Town on Saturday.

Meanwhile, George and Fraser’s Development Squad teammate Tadhg Ryan has returned from a loan spell at another Evo-Stik League Northern Premier First Division North club, Radcliffe Borough.

The 19 year-old Irish goalkeeper made 11 starts for Bill Prendergast’s side during a two month stay at the Club, during which time he was a penalty shootout hero; saving three in a victory over West Didsbury and Chorlton to help the side progress to the semi-final of the Lancashire Cup.

He will now re-join Frankie Bunn’s Under-23 squad ahead of the next Professional Development League game at Sheffield United on Monday 9 January 2017.

In his place, Town’s second year scholar goalkeeper Owen Brooke will join Radcliffe Borough.

As Owen is still 17 years old, he will technically join on work experience, which has no fixed end date.

Owen, who joined Town’s Academy as a 15 year-old from Liversedge, has started three games for the Under-18 side so far this season.

He is expected to go into the Radcliffe squad to face Farsley Celtic at home this weekend.
