Hefele, Whitehead, Palmer & Wells come in

- David Wagner makes four changes to Town's XI
- Michael Hefele, Dean Whitehead, Kasey Palmer & Nahki Wells start
- Mark Hudson, Aaron Mooy and Jack Payne among the subs

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made four changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Derby County; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The first change comes in central defence, where fans’ favourite Michael Hefele (pictured above) comes in to make his second Huddersfield Town start; the other coming in the home victory over Rotherham United on 27 September. He takes the place of Mark Hudson, with the Club Captain among the substitutes this afternoon.

In Hudson’s absence, the team is captained by the second incoming; Dean Whitehead. The experienced central midfielder partners Jonathan Hogg in a combative engine room pairing, with Australian international Aaron Mooy a substitute today.

Kasey Palmer also comes back into the team for today’s game, replacing Jack Payne. Former Southend United player Payne is on the bench.

The final switch sees midweek goal-scorer Nahki Wells return to the starting line-up. The Bermudian takes the place of Sean Scannell, who drops out of the squad altogether due to an ongoing hip issue.

With Scannell absent, the final place in the match day 18 goes to young left back Tareiq Holmes-Dennis.

There is one final switch on the bench today, with Joe Murphy completing his return from shoulder surgery. He takes the place of Joel Coleman, who played the full 90 minutes in yesterday’s 3-0 Under-23 win at Barnsley.
