BRING FUTURE FANS TO SATURDAY’S GAME vs BURTON!

28 March 2017

Let us know if you’re bringing first-time fans!

- Burton Albion game on Saturday focuses on young supporters
- Town supporters urged to bring Town 'fans of the future'
- Two families have four generations attending this weekend!

Huddersfield Town fans are encouraged to bring the next generation of supporters in their family to the Sky Bet Championship game against Burton Albion at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 1 April 2017 for the dedicated ‘Fans of the Future’ game!

As part of the build up to the game, htafc.com spoke with two supporters whose families have been attending Town games for decades about the importance of attracting the next generation.

Town supporter of 50 years, Dave Hey, will be attending the game with four generations of his family; his father Winston, a fan since 1953, his daughters Vicky and Alice, his nephews John and Jack and his 12-year-old grandson Jabe, who are all Season Card holders.

Dave said:

“It's really important that the Club is making it possible for families to come and watch Town. The football we're playing now is the best I've ever watched and the atmosphere is incredible. Anyone who has been thinking about coming should get themselves to the Burton game; at £3 for Under-18s it's the best value for money entertainment there is going! Irrespective of where we are in the league, future generations of our family will be Town fans; it's in our genes!”

Jill Swire, another Town fan who is part of four generations of supporters attending the Burton game, echoed Dave’s comments.

“It’s very important that the Club attracts children at affordable prices like they are doing at the Burton game. If you take children to a ‘live’ game they tend to adopt that Club as their own. My father-in-law Terry became a Town fan over seventy years ago and he handed down his allegiance to his family; now there’s up to 10 of us attending every game including his sons, grandsons and now great grandsons Harry, 5 and Alfie, 2. I would encourage Town fans to bring the kids along to see how excited they get!”

As always, there will be loads for youngsters to enjoy on match day as well as the 90 minutes of Sky Bet Championship action on the pitch! The PPG Canalside fanzone will be in full swing at the training ground with lots going on including exclusive David Wagner pin badges, the GAME console den and table football.

There is even more in store in and around the Fantastic Media Family Stand on match days. As well as appearances from Town mascots Terry and Tilly the Terrier, there will be face painters, balloon modellers and jugglers on hand to provide the entertainment!
