Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy was named in the EFL Team of the Year at the 2017 EFL Awards on Sunday evening.

Clubs, players and fans came together to recognise the achievements from a remarkable season at a star-studded evening at the Hilton Park Lane in central London on Sunday.

Over 650 guests were in attendance as the 2017 EFL Awards celebrated the unique successes of a remarkable year across all three divisions of the EFL.

Aaron, who is on loan at Town from Premier League side Manchester City, had already been named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season alongside Head Coach David Wagner and teammate Tommy Smith and was selected in the overall EFL side on the evening too.

Mooy has been a revelation at the Club since joining on a season-long loan this summer. Playing in a deeper role in the central midfield duo under Wagner – his entire career to date seeing him play in the ‘number 10 slot – Mooy has thrived, controlling many games.

Overall he’s netted four goals and currently sits second in the Club’s assist charts behind the aforementioned Smith. He’s also one of the Championship’s leading players when it comes to chance creation.

Further awards were presented to supporters, community projects and emerging stars as over 650 guests celebrated another remarkable year for the EFL.
