Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy has been named in the latest Australia squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier in June 2017.

The Caltex Socceroos will face Saudi Arabia in their next match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals qualifying stage.

Mooy has been named in Head Coach Ange Postecoglou’s 30 man squad, which will face Saudi Arabia on Thursday 8 June at the Adelaide Oval, 11am kick-off (7.30pm KO local time).

Town’s midfielder will join up with the squad on Friday 2 June to face Saudi Arabia, who currently sits a place and three points ahead of Australia in the AFC Qualification Group B.

So far in the World Cup qualification campaign, the Socceroos have currently picked up 13 points from 7 games; winning three and drawing four.

Earlier in the qualifying campaign, Mooy’s Australia drew 2-2 with Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

After all 10 group games have been completed, the top two sides will advance to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, with the third placed team heading to an inter-confederation Play-Off.

Mooy could return to the Australia starting line-up after missing his country’s last match through suspension, as the Socceroos beat UAE 2-0. The 26 year-old has started six out of the seven World Cup qualifiers, which has taken his total number of caps to 22.
