2022/23 Sky Bet Championship season ends with a convincing home win over Reading

Town ended the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship season in style, beating Reading 2-0 at a full John Smith’s Stadium in Neil Warnock and Ronnie Jepson’s final fixture in charge of the Club!
Having already sealed our fate in our penultimate fixture against Sheffield United in midweek, the first half was played like a fixture with nothing riding on it as neither side really took hold of the game as half-time arrived with little to report.
Fresh from a talk from Neil Warnock and Ronnie Jepson, the Terriers came out more determined after the interval and grabbed the upper hand, attacking with more purpose and putting Reading under increasing pressure.
That pressure eventually told through Josh Koroma, who beat one defender with a drop of the shoulder before curling a trademark finish into the bottom right corner across the goalkeeper. Soon after second half substitute Joe Hungbo doubled the lead, hitting a goal of the season candidate from distance with his left boot right into the top left corner of the goal.
The win left the Terriers in 18th position to end the season on 53 points, 9 points and four places above the bottom three, cementing a remarkable turnaround under Warnock and Jepson since their return to the Club.
