Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley believes this weekend’s game against Leeds United means a lot for the Club and the supporters.

There are 10 games left of the Sky Bet Championship season and the Terriers are fighting for survival – four points clear of the relegation zone.

Town, however, come into the game off the back of two consecutive wins and good performances.

When speaking ahead of the match, Danny Cowley detailed how much a win would mean in this stage of the season and to the fantastic Town supporters.

“We’re proud people. This is a proud football club. We know what this game means in our season and what it means to our supporters.

“Our supporters haven’t had enough good times or fun in recent months and years.

“We are desperately looking to put on a really good performance and one that makes them proud.”

Leeds United currently sit second in the Sky Bet Championship, five points ahead of third placed Fulham.

They also come into the game off the back of a 4-0 win and Town’s Manager detailed what he expects from them.

“We are respectful of Leeds; they’ve had a very good season so far and put themselves in a really good position. They play with a real energy and intensity; a real fast and furious football. They play with a real purpose.

“Their movement is outstanding; the best in the league in terms of the counter runs, double movements, penetrative nature of the movement, the rotation, their ability to fill and empty space.

“They ask a lot of questions of you defensively. We have to make sure we match them physically and with our tactical organisation against the ball. We have to cause Leeds a problem when we have the ball.

“We’ve worked hard this week in trying to focus on both sides of the game. To get a positive result at Elland Road we have to be at the top of the game both with and against the ball.”

Jonathan Hogg and Andy King were key absentees for the Terriers last weekend. Danny Cowley detailed the latest update on them and Kamil Grabara.

“The group’s in a good way. We’ve had a good week, positive week on the grass. I’ve been impressed with the players’ work ethic and attitude. We had a good back end to last week and it’s been good to carry that momentum into this week.

“Tomorrow might be too soon for Hoggy. Unfortunately, he’s picked up a ligament injury on the outside of his knee. His knee has improved a lot over the last 10 days since he did it and we are hoping he won’t be too long.

“We are hopeful that Kingy (Andy King) will be back with us; it’ll be a real positive. He brings a wealth of experience, a calmness and composure. He’s lived these types of games before, so he’s a good option for us.

“Kamil played against a really strong Blackpool team on Tuesday. He kept a clean sheet, didn’t have loads to do, but what he did, he did very well. He’s now available for selection, so that gives us a very competitive option in the goalkeeping position.”
