WILLIAMS PLAYS IN DRAW FOR ENGLAND U17s

4 October 2015

Defender starts again in Euro qualifiers

- Huddersfield Town defender plays for England Under-17s
- Jordan Williams starts in draw with Portugal
- Six caps for Meltham-born player

Huddersfield Town defender Jordan Williams earned his sixth England Under-17 cap as the Three Lions continued their UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Portugal today (Sunday).

Head Coach Steve Cooper's side had already qualified for the Elite qualifying stages after beating San Marino 8-0 and Armenia 5-0 earlier in the week, with Jordan playing the full 90 minutes in each victory.

The Elite Round qualifiers will now take place in March, where the final spots for next summer’s showpiece in Azerbaijan will be determined.

Centre back Jordan, who hails from Meltham and joined the Academy at nine years old, earned his first three England Under-17 caps in August as the Three Lions finished runners-up at The FA International Tournament.

Jordan is an Under-16 player within the Club’s Academy, but has started six games for the Under-18s so far this season.

He will now return to Huddersfield and should be available for the Under-18's Professional Development League 2 game at Sheffield United on Saturday.

Town's Sky Bet Championship game at home to MK Dons on 20 October is just £10 adults at the turnstiles!
